Fire Damage Repair & Renovation Of A 17th Century House

April 2016

I recently had to have some remedial works completed as a result of flood damage. It was by chance that I came across Christy Kenneally’s company online. I had dreaded getting these works done, as I had been badly burnt by a cowboy builder in 1999/2000 – an experience that I have not yet gotten over.

I cannot believe that I am writing this, but it was a pleasure to deal with this man and his efficient, personable , considerate band of employees. Indeed, I’ll go as far as saying that my experience of dealing with this company has led me to believe that there actually are some decent people in the building industry. It’s just a matter of finding the good ones.

As this was an insurance claim, I felt doubly worried. However, Christy battled on my behalf with the insurance company to ensure that they would pay for a quality job to be done.

To conclude: my experience with this company has certainly reduced my ‘fear of builder’!

I encountered a problem with my heating system early in February and my plumber advised the problem was a leak in the system. He advised me to contact Christy Kenneally of Advance Maintenance Ltd, Cork to identify the source of the problem. On the evening of Thursday 5 February I made contact with Mr. Kenneally and he advised that he would be available to assess the situation on Monday 9 February. I advised that I would confirm on the following day (Friday) and he agreed to carry out his inspection as stated on the Monday. Mr. Kenneally arrived at the appointed time and, having explained what he was planning to do, he set about the work in an efficient, expeditious manner using a range of modern equipment. Before lunch time he had clearly identified the problem and I was now in a position to advise my plumber to proceed as per Mr. Kenneally’s findings. Mr. Kenneally’s work was carried out in a neat fuss-free manner and I would highly recommend his services to someone with similar problems to mine.

“Over a period of time we noticed cracks appearing in a partition wall in our house. We made several attempts to repair these ourselves, and even brought in “experts” to tell us why they kept appearing, to no avail. Deciding it was subsidence, we eventually, called in Christy Keneally who immediately set about investigating the problem. He brought in all of the expertise needed, and, since there was an insurance claim involved, dealt with the insurance company and its assessor on our behalf, with a minimum of fuss. The work was finished to a very high standard. We would highly recommend Advance Maintenance Ltd to anyone with similar issues.”

“The middle of October this year we suspected a leak in our house and my husband thought it was from the central heating system, there was no evidence of burst pipes within the house. I phoned some companies with regard to this and the first person to call back was Christy Kenneally from AM Leak Detection. He asked briefly what the problem was in the house and he explained in detail how he would approach detecting this leak and gave the price for this. I agreed and we arranged time for him to come to the house.

The day Christy came to our house he was very professional. Again he listened thoroughly to what the problem was, then each room and radiator was checked thoroughly and meter readings were taken. He suspected a leak in one area of the house and we arranged for him to come back the following day to use detection equipment to find it. This was carried out the next morning with minimal disruption to the household. The leak was detected and repaired. The pipework was left exposed for a few days to let it dry out and then Christy returned one morning and completed the work.

The whole service was very professional, he was always very polite, punctual, and extremely neat and tidy in his work. We got our detailed invoice within one week which was very reasonable and I would highly recommend Christy, his colleagues and AM Leak Detection to anybody in the future who had a suspected leak or needed obvious leak repaired.”

“We arrived home one day to discover that there had been a burst pipe in the attic. The water had travelled down through our house destroying ceilings, floors and paintwork.

We immediately notified our insurance company and they sent a Loss Adjuster to our home to assess the damage.

The Loss Adjuster recommended Advance Maintenance Ltd to carry out the necessary repairs.

We met with Christy Keneally from Advance Maintenance Ltd who assessed the damage and prepared costings. Having agreed details with the Loss Adjuster Christy and his team started work to reinstate our home.”
